3D Printing is NOT a New Technology?

While attending a recent conference this past year, I had the pleasure of meeting “The Father of 3D Printing, Mr. Charles Hull, pictured with our own Ron Beltz, Director of Strategic Accounts with Bluestreak I Bright AM™.

In 2014, Chuck Hull was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame for inventing the solid imaging process known as stereolithography (3D Printing), the first commercial rapid prototyping technology. What Chuck started as a quicker way to prototype, has now grown into a technology commonplace on aircraft, automobiles, etc.

Like any invention that has revolutionized or shaped an industry so dramatically, I think it is pretty cool to have met such a legendary person during my career.

After some further research into the history of 3-D printing, I learned about other global key figures/thought leaders and came across a concise 3D printing timeline compiled by the Education Department at the Museum of Arts and Design.
